marstall Basis is a rich structural feed with plenty of valuable lucerne. It is gently chopped, lightly oiled and molassed. marstall Basis helps with body building and is an ideal roughage supplement, especially for sport and breeding horses. 
marstall Basis consists of chopped straw and lucerne fibres. The tasty raw fibre components enhance particularly grain-based rations by stimulating chewing activity. This increases saliva production, which improves the utilisation of the feed. The valuable, protein-rich lucerne makes the Basis, together with the added molasses and vegetable oil, a rich source of crude fibre. Molasses is rich in vitamins, minerals, trace elements and secondary plant substances, while vegetable oil contains valuable omega-3 fatty acids.

 marstall Gastro-Muesli was developed according to the latest scientific findings for horses with sensitive stomachs or stomach problems. Nervous and thin horses also benefit from the grain-free, stomach acid buffering and at the same time optimally digestible recipe. The molasses-free muesli is very palatable, as horses with stomach problems are often fussy eaters. 
Thanks to Allgäu hay fibres and soft Timothee chaff, Gastro-Muesli has a high structural content. This stimulates chewing activity and thus promotes the formation of saliva. Together with the added bicarbonate, this buffers the stomach acid. The grain-free recipe without molasses also helps to prevent extreme acidity in the stomach. Grape marc adds anti-inflammatory polyphenols to the marstall Gastro-Muesli, antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids support this effect. The natural muesli contains only native nutrients and plenty of chewing-promoting fibres in the form of soft Timothy grass and hay chips. It can be combined with any other feed as no minerals, trace elements or vitamins are added. The protein-rich recipe also contains neither molasses nor lucerne.
marstall grain-free mix is the natural protein supplement for grain-free feeding. Not only old horses sometimes react sensitively to grain or need to be fed a metabolism-friendly diet. In these cases, marstall grain-free mix is ideal for supplementing rations with natural protein, as grain-free, low-starch rations are often low in protein and therefore in amino acids, which are essential for the muscles. The natural muesli contains soya* from Germany, peas and linseed as natural sources of protein. Gently heat-dried hay crisps from the Allgäu region and soft Timothy grass make the marstall grain-free mix easy on the stomach and easy to digest. The grass for our grass cubes comes from Switzerland and is processed into the popular cubes at the Bürli family's drying plant in Alberswil, Lucerne.
Grass cubes are free from molasses and other additives. The grass is processed and pelletised in a special drying process after harvesting. This means they retain many of their original ingredients.

Grass cubes can usually also be softened easily and quickly, which makes them so popular for foals and seniors.However, grass cubes are subject to quality fluctuations depending on the plant population, time of harvest and drying conditions, which is why we cannot guarantee their swelling properties. Grass cubes often help against faecal water due to their high water-binding capacity. Mix approx. 0.5 kg of grass cubes into the concentrated feed.

The Optibeets, which swell quickly with water, are based on desugared and digested beet pulp. The unlignified plant cells are an ideal and high-quality feed for horses and provide about the same amount of digestible energy as cereal flakes. This calm form of energy from highly digestible raw fibre does not make horses hyperactive. Optibeets can be fed to any horse. As it does not contain carbohydrates as found in cereal flakes, Optibeets can also be used in cases of Cushing's disease, laminitis, tying up, etc. The extremely low glycaemic response also makes Optibeets an ideal feed for endurance horses. Horses and ponies aged 26 or 27 years and older have great problems crushing coarse hay and straw. If the teeth are in very poor condition, this sometimes even becomes impossible. Such horses start chewing hay and swallowing the saliva mass and juices. The "exhausted" raw fibre is spat out in clumps. This is a natural protective mechanism of old horses that no longer manage to break down the raw fibre components to a maximum of 5-15 mm in length under their own steam. If the fibres that remain too long were swallowed, this would result in painful, if not fatal, choking or colic. 
In ProSenior, the raw fibre components are broken down using extruder technology so that they can be easily chewed and "swallowed" by old horses - without the risk of colic - and are still highly digestible. With 3.6 % starch, ProSenior can be described as a low-glycaemic feed. ProSenior is pressed into 1 to 3 cm large, fibrous chips. ProSenior can be fed dry to stimulate salivation during chewing. Only for old and sometimes "lazy" horses can ProSenior be soaked 1:1 with water and given wet. This way you bring a lot of water into the circulation. 
There are other reasons for giving Prosenior. Roughage rich in protein such as grass in spring or haylage can be optimally balanced with Prosenior, which is low in protein and rich in crude fibre. Hasty eaters receive ProSenior mixed with the concentrate and thus find more peace in eating the feed. The feeding time is considerably prolonged.

Normal cereal muesli contains - contrary to our Pro PSSM - high proportions of carbohydrates (starch), which are converted into glucose (sugar) during "metabolisation". Horses that are light-footed or are fed too much concentrated feed for the work they are required to do will suffer from over-acidification of the body cells as a result. Due to these facts, the following symptoms can occur:
- glucose intolerance and insulin resistance
- laminitis, cross-stitch, Cushing's syndrome, PSSM and
EMS
Horses suffering from the carbohydrate storage disease "PSSM" (Polysaccharide Storage Myophatia), for example, have a chronic metabolic problem, also known as sugar storage disease. This disease can be hereditary in certain breeds of horses. The horses show reluctance to move, stiffness and lack of energy. A muscle biopsy is necessary and will correctly show the degree of the disease.
In the Marstall recipe "PRO PSSM" we have reduced the freely available carbohydrates (starch/sugar) to an absolute minimum. Most of the ingredients bring vegetable oils and fats as an energy source into this concentrate. In this way we remove the "nutritional basis" of this insidious disease and actively combat its causes. Senior Plus is a high-quality premium muesli: thanks to its hydrothermally digested cereal flakes, it provides plenty of energy in an easily digestible form so that horses with age-related slower digestion and reduced metabolic performance do not physically break down. The knowledge of the power of herbs is as old as mankind. We have incorporated this knowledge into the recipe and developed marstall Sinfonie, an aromatic, oat-free herbal muesli that combines the best of the herb garden in a natural form. Essential oils vitalise the cardiovascular system and stimulate the metabolism. This increases the horse's well-being and performance. In addition, the herbs contained free the respiratory tract and have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulating and diuretic properties. To protect the valuable ingredients, the bags of Sinfonie are provided with a double membrane.
Vitamin E and selenium protect the cell membranes from free radicals - highly reactive oxygen compounds that attack the cells - and are true boosters for maintaining and supporting the athletic performance of the muscles. These properties make the herbal muesli the ideal nutritional partner for sport horses, older horses or horses with coughs.
