The back section of the blanket is made of waterproof and highly breathable softshell fabric. The sides of the blanket are made of polyester mesh. This allows for excellent air circulation and protects the horse from overheating. The edge of the blanket is fitted with a drip strip made of 600D polyester fabric. A particularly smooth polyester lining is used in the mane, shoulder, and tail areas, which gives the coat a beautiful sheen and is especially comfortable to wear.

The blanket includes a removable, contoured 100g liner. This allows you to switch from a lightweight summer blanket to a lined pasture blanket as needed. As a result, the Summer Series keeps the horse warm even on cooler days and nights.

The proven Surefit neckline with a V-front closure prevents pressure points on the shoulders and allows for greater freedom of movement around the neck while grazing. The unique leg openings, patented by Horseware, give the horse greater freedom of movement. It also allows the blanket to hug the horse’s belly more snugly, ensuring that this area is protected as well. The blanket has no back seam and features a long tail flap.

The Disc front closure provides even greater safety. The horse can no longer get caught on the blanket, as the ergonomically shaped closure lies flat against the blanket and prevents loops from forming. Thanks to the ergonomic cut of the neckline, the horse isn’t restricted while grazing and can comfortably lower its neck. How does it work? Whether from the right or left, the Disc closure is easy and safe to use. Simply open the two right or left Velcro fasteners, and the blanket is ready to be removed. The four Velcro fasteners also offer optimal adjustability, allowing the blanket to be customized to fit. Another special feature is the elastic cross-strap system with an improved fit. A PVC-coated, removable tail strap completes the secure fit. Removable neck piece included. Like the blanket, the neck piece is made of softshell performance fabric in the mane area and polyester mesh on the sides. It attaches to the blanket with Velcro fasteners on the left and right sides of the withers. Two Velcro fasteners with stainless steel eyelets secure it comfortably around the horse’s neck.

When developing the Summer Series, Horseware had in mind, above all, riders who don’t always have time to change blankets in changeable summer weather. The blanket was tested in New Zealand and Ireland, where you can sometimes experience all four seasons in a single day. The horse stays dry in summer rain and is just as effectively protected from hot sunlight; this blanket is also ideal for cooler nights.

Note: If your horse’s back length falls between two sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller size, as Horseware horse blankets are generously cut.
