Rectangular Hay Pillow, 6 cm Holes
Material:
We’ve selected only the highest-quality materials for our pillows and bags. All models feature TPU, certified nylon, and stainless steel snaps.
Why exactly these materials and not others? I’ll tell you here:
TPU 0.65 mm vs. PVC: TPU is more abrasion-resistant, more environmentally friendly, and less sensitive to temperature. (PVC can become brittle and crack, especially in winter.)
Nylon: There are many imitation nylons that are indistinguishable from the real thing. However, almost all imitations contain toxic substances. Ours do not.
Stainless steel: Doesn’t rust
Why did we choose buttons?
I went through all the options...
-> Velcro isn’t good because hay gets caught in it...
-> Buttons aren’t good because, especially in winter, it can be very tedious to have to push them through a hole...
-> Zippers aren’t good because if one breaks, you might as well throw the bag away...
-> Snap fasteners are GREAT. Easy to open and close; according to our tests, they never opened when they weren’t supposed to, and if one ever breaks, anyone should be able to replace it.
Details:
-> Size: 68 x 60 cm
-> Feeding holes: 6 cm (nylon width 5 cm)
-> Filling capacity: approx. 3.5 kg of hay
-> 2 loops for hanging or securing the cushion
Additional facts:
-> No empty chewing, as is common with very tightly woven hay nets.
-> Keeps horses occupied and thus promotes overall well-being.
-> Natural feeding posture. Most hay racks are too high. This low feeding height encourages the horse’s back to “open up” over several hours of feeding.
-> Feeding times are extended. Of course, not as drastically as with very fine-mesh nets, but you can also stretch out the rations really well with hay or nibble branches, which further enhances the ration, depending on the branches chosen.
