Hoof protection under shoes, plates, and silicone.
KERALIT undercover is a highly adhesive, firm hoof care paste consisting of herbal spices such as turmeric, highly dispersed mineral substances, and bark extracts from various tree species, such as oak bark.
The ointment base ensures a steady release of the active ingredients over 6–8 weeks. KERALIT undercover is specifically designed to prevent and treat horn decomposition in the white line, sole, quarter, and frog areas.
It is also effective for hoof columns and hollow walls. KERALIT undercover releases rot-inhibiting active ingredients throughout the entire shoeing period. This occurs more frequently when moisture from the outside penetrates under the shoe, such as when washing the hooves or from the bedding.
When KERALIT undercover is used, the environment beneath the shoe and silicone is altered throughout the shoeing period in such a way that decomposition processes caused by ammonia or microorganisms can no longer occur. Foul-smelling decay is prevented, and the hoof is reliably stabilized. KERALIT undercover contains no iodoform or copper compounds.
Simple, hassle-free application
After trimming and removing decayed or loose horn tissue, KERALIT undercover is simply applied with a putty knife into the resulting cavities. For shoeing with plates and silicone inserts, the sole and frog can also be coated. The rest of the shoeing process proceeds as usual.

Effective frog treatment for open-stall housing
KERALIT undercover is also frequently used to prevent and treat hoof decay in the frog area. It is particularly well-suited for horses kept in open stables or on pasture, as it remains in the frog grooves for several days and adheres to them even in wet weather. Daily treatment is therefore not necessary.
