Olive-head bit, stainless steel, double-jointed

Stübben

Thick bridle
16 mm
The olive-head bit is characterized by a fixed ring. Compared to a snaffle bit, the sides should fit about one centimeter closer to the corners of the mouth. The olive-head design prevents the corners of the mouth from getting pinched in the rings. The horse cannot push the bit up with its tongue, so the mouthpiece rests more calmly in the mouth and is slightly more stabilized laterally. Since the ring does not rotate, the result is a slightly more direct action with a gentle influence on the neck. However, the difference from the snaffle bit is not noticeable to either the horse or most riders.
The double-jointed mouthpiece distributes pressure evenly across the tongue and the floor of the mouth. The olive-shaped head provides slight lateral stabilization and guidance, creating calmness and stability in the horse’s mouth.
