The throwing ball from SPARROW Pet is made of 100% natural and high-quality hemp. Unlike cotton or artificially produced toys, the hemp fibres completely disintegrate. This makes the toys much safer for all dogs.
The throwing ball is great for fetch, tug-of-war or just chewing. The toy promotes health, cleans teeth and supports mental development.
Hemp is very environmentally friendly
Unlike cotton, hemp is extremely environmentally friendly and sustainable. Hemp can grow healthily without the use of pesticides. In addition, hemp only requires about half the amount of water compared to cotton. Here are a few facts:
Cotton: 9.7 litres of water! That's how much it takes to produce one kilo of cotton fibre. That's a lot! The countries that are the main producers of cotton are losing freshwater reservoirs and are moving closer to desertification. Moreover, the use of pesticides is a must for the production of non-infected cotton fibres, which in turn can be a danger for our dogs, as they can also be present in the toys. So cotton is a complete failure when it comes to preserving the environment.
Hemp: Hemp requires barely a quarter of the amount of water (2.7 litres) to produce one kilo of hemp fibre. Hemp grows quickly and is ready for fibre production in a much shorter time than cotton. In addition, hemp produces 200-250% more fibre than cotton grown on the same area. And because hemp is a self-sustaining plant, no pesticides are required, making it a totally eco-friendly option for cotton and, in our case, dog toys.
IMPORTANT: Toys made from hemp are a natural and safe alternative to dog toys made from synthetic materials. Synthetic toys can seriously injure your dog if swallowed. Our hemp toys disintegrate naturally and the hemp fibres actually dissolve completely in most cases. This does not mean that they should be eaten like a treat or left unattended by a dog. They are meant for anyone looking for a safer alternative to synthetic dog toys. Safer does not mean that a dog cannot be allergic to the material.
