FREY HORSE DYNAMIC POWER covers the increased iron requirement of horses with high workload and corresponding sweat loss. It specifically prevents performance weaknesses and deficiency symptoms, promotes rapid blood replenishment and the oxygen supply to the tissues.
Iron is a component of haemoglobin, the red blood pigment, and is needed for blood formation. In addition, it has other tasks as a component of ferments in the metabolism. The usual feeds contain more iron than the horse needs to meet its requirements. However, it must be noted that iron phytate, for example, can be poorly absorbed. Phytate compounds are found in cereals, cereal products and oilseed residues. Therefore, one-sided feeding can nevertheless lead to an undersupply.
Iron has a positive effect on the haemoglobin content in the blood and the myoglobin content in the muscle and supports the mechanism for oxygen transport and transmission. Like iron, copper is involved in ferments that catalyse redox processes in metabolism. It supports the incorporation of iron into haemoglobin. Copper is also necessary in pigment and connective tissue formation. Cobalt also has a positive effect on blood, skin and growth. One cobalt atom is contained in the molecule of vitamin B12. If cobalt is missing, vitamin B12 is also missing. Zinc supports the immune system. When calcium and copper levels are high (excessive administration of cereals or cereal by-products with a high phytic acid content), the zinc requirement is increased.
